Meet the Cast, Creator and Music Makers of The Perla Garcia Mysteries!
Perla Garcia is voiced by Daisy Guevara, a Latin-American actress born and based in New York City. She grew up acting on a community theater stage. She eventually earned her BA degree in Theater at City College of New York, where she stumbled upon voice acting classes. She hasn’t looked back since! She has lent her voice in various voiceover projects in anime, video games, and audio dramas. In the podcast realm, you can hear Daisy’s performances in Meteor City, Seen and Not Heard, Dreambound, Life with Leo(h), and the upcoming Twilight Over Midgard. In Episode One and Four, Javier is voiced by Josh Zambrano. In Episode Six, he voices El Cucuy. He is a proud native Chicagoan, and graduated from The Chicago High School for the Arts (ChiArts) as an Acting major in 2014. He went on to earn a BA degree in biology from Colorado College. Since then, he has come back to his hometown hungrily pursuing acting as a career and currently teaches acting at his alma mater. Josh is a company member of Vision Latino Theatre Company and is on Chicago Youth Shakespeare's board of directors. Credits include: Sonny in In The Heights (Vision Latino), Sims in Grace, or the Art of Climbing (Brown Paper Box Co.), & Eddie in Monger (Her Story Theatre).

La Llorona, in Episode One, and Jessica, in Episode Two, are voiced by Melody Korkmaz. In Episode Six, she voices La Llorona Throughout her life Melody has always loved to do anything creative, but singing and acting are by far her favorite ways to express herself. She cherishes the ability to bring to life stories from around the world. Being raised by a Turkish father and a Vietnamese mother has given her an appreciation for diversity and a passion for travel. It has also given her a plethora of stories to share with the world. She grew up in community and school theater and performs at every chance that comes her way, from her hometown in Michigan to Ankara Turkey.

Señorita Osman in Episode One, Señora Ramirez in Episode Four, and Abuelita Cecilia in Episode Six are voiced by Jazmine Kuyayki Broe, an actress and dancer from Peru. She has worked in film, television, theater, the circus, and dance. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts and Sciences from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Peru, and a certificate in Acting for Film from the New York Film Academy.

Paul in Episode Two and Mr. Snyder in Episode Six are voiced by Juan-Daniel Sosa Coronado. Juan-Daniel was raised in West Texas. He graduated from Texas Tech University in Lubbock with a BA in Psychology and certifications in secondary education. While attending Texas Tech, he had a short stint acting in the university’s Lab Theatre. As an educator, he taught and directed Theatre Arts twenty-one of his twenty-four years in public schools. Juan-Daniel practiced what he “preached” to his One Act Play thespians, as he found time to act in community productions of: “Alice in Wonderland,” “The 1940’s Radio Hour,” “As You Like It,” and others. Juan-Daniel currently works as a private tutor and educator.

Carlos in Episode Three and El Chupacabra in Episode Six are voiced by Eduardo García Rascón. He is a Mexican composer born in Chihuahua, México. He wrote the music to, and sings on, The Perla Garcia Mysteries theme song and Las Manañitas in Episode Four . He graduated cum laude from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Film Scoring. He is co-founder and composer of the YouTube children’s channel HiDino Kids Songs and the educational app KidsFunLab. He is also co-founder of 8-Bit Studio. His credits include the video game “Womg” developed by “Bear & Guts” and the children’s series “Yowie” developed by DIY.org. In 2018 he was nominated for best original score at the Portland Comedy Film Festival for his music for the short film “Mr. Chuckles”.

Alejandra Calvete is a featured vocalist in The Perla Garcia Mysteries theme song and Las Manañitas in Episode Four. She is a Mexican singer and songwriter born and raised in Torreón, Coahuila, México. She earned a degree in Communication Sciences and a diploma in Music Composition at SACM (Sociedad de Autores y Compositores de México). She has written songs for other artists such as Alejandra Guzmán. On May 2018, she was selected by the brand KENZO to perform “What A Way To Win A War” for Flower perfume by KENZO. She was also the winner of the Hollywood Songwriting Contest in the category “Best Latin Song” with her song “Alma En Llanto”. She is currently working on a music project as Ela Sáenz.

The Perla Garcia Mysteries was created by, and is written and produced by, Rodolfo Alvarado. He is an eclectic writer residing in Michigan. His fiction and non-fiction have appeared in literary journals, academic and popular presses, as well as on stage and film. He holds a Fine Arts PhD and an MFA in Playwriting from Texas Tech University, as well as an MA in History from Eastern Michigan University, where he was a University Fellow and a Parks/King/Chavez Fellow. Aside from dedicating his efforts to The Perla Garcia Mysteries, he is currently developing a number of projects for film and podcasting, one of which, "Biografía, the Podcast," will be released in early April 2022. He plays Mr. Aguero in Episode Five.
